Current Events in Long Branch, NJ

One of the most popular events on the Jersey Shore is rapidly approaching, the New Jersey marathon. The event will take place Thursday, April 29^th through Sunday, May 2^nd. While the event is primarily a marathon, visitors and residents alike will find there are plenty of activities to enjoy. Athletes of all types of abilities, including those using walkers and wheelchairs are welcome to join in on the fun. The first wave of racers, wheelchair athletes, will take to the course at 8:45. The second wave will begin at 9 am and will include those athletes who anticipate being able to complete the course between five and nine minutes per mile. All remaining athletes will take to the course after the second wave has cleared the starting area.

The New Jersey Marathon Festival will also include a variety of different family fun events throughout the entire weekend that will appeal to all ages. Just some of the activities that will be available include face painting, clowns, carnival games, music, refreshments, crafts, awards and much more. There will also be many other forms of entertainment held throughout the weekend of the marathon festival.
